Drogba was at Wembley to watch Aston Villa, where John Terry is assistant manager, take on Derby County, who are managed by Frank Lampard and have Ashley Cole among their playing ranks.

It was Terry who was celebrating on Monday, as Villa ran out 2-1 winners to seal their return to the Premier League.

And Drogba was delighted to see his old friends still competing at the top level.

Speaking to talkSPORT host Jim White, the Ivorian star said :“I’m really happy to see my ex-team-mates there; Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, John Terry and a few of the staff, being there and competing to get to the highest level in the league.

“I’m so proud of them, I’m really proud of them.

“It was funny, those two [Lampard and Terry] used to be together all the time and now they are competing against each other!

Drogba also revealed he has a ticket for the Europa League final and will be cheering on Chelsea against Arsenal in Baku.

“I’m going to be there and I hope they win,” he added.
