‘Theresa May is the David Moyes of politics’ – Simon Jordan in straight-talking assessment of Brexit

Whether you voted leave or remain, you’ve got to listen to Simon Jordan’s brutal assessment of Theresa May’s Brexit shambles, as he likened the Prime Minister to David Moyes!

On the day the UK was supposed to leave the EU, MPs will instead vote for the third time on the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal, having this week promised to step down from her post if it is agreed.

Is Theresa May the David Moyes of politics?

But enough of politics, we need football analogies!

It’s not been an easy ride for May in the Parliamentary hotseat. When she replaced David Cameron as manager, she was expected to lead the country to a top-four place, maybe even a title bid, but instead her hapless tenure as seen the United Kingdom slip closer and closer towards relegation.

OK, so that didn’t really work, did it?

We’ll leave the analogies to former Crystal Palace owner, Jordan, who said the country needs better leaders and should have a Sir Alex Ferguson in charge, not a David Moyes.

Ouch.

“Brexit is not an issue, it’s the inability of the politicians we’ve currently got to be able to deliver,” he told talkSPORT on Friday’s Sports Breakfast.

“We lack leaders!

“David Cameron should be put in stocks and have rotten tomatoes thrown at him, because he’s left us in a difficult situation.

“Theresa May has stepped into a poisoned chalice, she’s a bit like the David Moyes of Manchester United – she’s not a great leader but she’s a very good politician.

“Now, what we have are dissenting politicians who don’t have the substance to make the decisions they’re put in place to deliver.

“There’s nothing wrong with Brexit, it’s the inability to deliver through weak, lily-livered, limp-wristed politicians who have got a set of balls now because they haven’t got direct leadership controlling them.

“The problem we’ve got are ineffective politicians and there are not enough leaders.

“In America you’ve got a leader who can’t politic, in this country we’ve got a politician who can’t lead!”
